Tensile splitting tests on structural lightweight concrete with "shalite" aggregate /

Shrnutí:A series of tests was done to establish, for one commercial lightweight aggregate ("Shalite") the ratio of the tensile splitting strength to the square root of the compressive strength. This ratio (Fsp) was found to be 5.37 for the aggregate used in these tests, and was independent, within the parameters tested, of the cement factor, grading of the aggregate, and moisture condition of the aggregate at mixing.
